The Girls Cross Country team traveled to Tiffin, OH on a steamy Saturday to one of the largest meets in the Midwest and defended last year’s championship, bringing home the trophy.

In the Varsity A race, coach Dobson opted to run two teams, with one finishing first and the other seventh out of 34 teams.  The first team was paced by Meghan Harris, who placed 10th overall.  Following Harris were Megan Quinlan (11th), Sonal Gupta (13th), Meredith Rintoul (15th), Lainey Studebaker (18th), Brianna Burkman (36th), and Alexa Jennings (47th).  Leading the second varsity team was Melissa Rintoul (29th), trailed by Taylor Malchow (33rd), Caitlin Culberg (78th), Abby Hecht (83rd), Kelsey Kohls (92nd), Emily Pantuso (103rd), and Abby Magoffin (123rd).

The Varsity B race was equally competitive, with 33 teams running.  The Elks again ran two teams, finishing 6th and 8th.  Leading the first team was Dakotah Feil, who finished 27th.  The other runners were Laura Drew (28th), Megan Klosterman (37th), Lizzie Thomas (48th), Grace Butkus (52nd), Ashley Magoffin (79th), and Katie Quinlin (88th).  The second team was paced by Emily Fortman (34th), then Molly Hoying (36th), Sydney Hosford (40th), Abby Hoying (42nd), Clare Coons (49th), Lindsey Wiseman (66th) and Ashley Engel (85th).

The Open race was quite a spectacle, as over 600 runners competed from 37 teams.  The girls finished 4th in this race.  Scoring for the team was Caroline Ferrazza (7th), followed by Hailey Trouten (11th), Kaeli Studebaker (28th), Carly Marten (29th), Diana Harbach (40th), Claire Anderson (42nd), and Madeline Kondritz (48th).
