Preseason Victory!

OHSAA Early Season Invitational 8-20-16

The team threw open the doors to their season this past Saturday, proving that they are most definitely ready to defend their DI team State title in 2016.  In the oppressive heat and humidity of a late August morning, the team readily took first place in the OHSAA Early Season Invitational at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.

Against a very strong Olentangy Liberty team and a solid Mason team, Centerville scored just 45 points, with their top 5 runners finishing 2-6-8-12-17.  Leading this young team was sophomore Grace Kilroy, who finished 2nd overall with a time of 18:51.  Finishing times for the Centerville runners in this first race of the season were:

Grace Kilroy –2nd –18:51 (sophomore)

Sophie Hippenmeyer –30th–20:54 (sophomore)
Drea Scofield –82th–21:47 (senior)

In the Open Race later in the morning, Centerville placed a solid 6th place, showing the depth of their team, with Centerville runners finishing with the following times:

Anna Botswick –10th –22:00
