PRESEASON VICTORY!

The season kicked off for 20 CGXCers on Saturday, August 19th at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, OH.   This course will host the State Cross Country Championships in early November but on this day, it was host to the first meet of the 2017 campaign.

The Elks picked up where they left off last year and placed 1st out of 24 talented teams.   The squad from Centerville was led by a pack of 5 runners who all placed in the Top 17.   Junior, Grace Kilroy, was 2nd overall in a time of 18:31.   She was followed by freshman, Emma Bucher, 7th place – 18:40, and Kelli Walsh, 14th place, 19:10.   Not far behind were Kerri Walsh, Sydney Khosla, Savannah Lowe, and Dalia Einstein.   Rounding out the Top 10 were Megan Knauer, Nikki Jindal, and Megan Kafka.

In the Open Race, the Elks placed 2nd out of 24 teams.   The team was paced by Katie Jauch, 4th place – 21:15 and Hannah Mangen, 7th place – 21:40.   A link to the results can be found HERE.
