MOTHER/DAUGHTER YOGA

Come spend some time as mother and daughter and take an hour to do some FREE yoga.  Don’t worry if your mother (or even daughter) cannot make it, we would still love to have you attend on Tuesday, January 30th from 7-8 PM at Up and Running – 6123 Far Hills Avenue.   Bring a yoga mat or two if you have them for yourself and to share with others that may not.

MORE INFO BEHIND THIS OPPORTUNITY

The team was recently contacted by Jen Hamilton a former high school runner and collegiate athlete at Michigan State University.   She currently lives in the Columbus area and received out team’s information through Coach Vergote at The Ohio State University.  She is currently competing her 200 hour yoga teacher certification and asked if we could be part of her outreach project.   She is passionate about seeing her love of yoga and running connecting and wants to give back to the next generation of high school runners.  Here is her own words in our initial email exchange.  She writes, “after successful high school running career, I was plagued by many injures in college that kept me from racing most of the time.   When I discovered yoga after college, I realized how much the practice made a difference in my body as a way to strengthen and stretch overused muscles.   I believe if I had been introduced to it earlier as a cross training method it might have made a difference, which is why I would love to bring this practice to your high school athletes.”   Jen has spoken to me about building a relationship that would further these opportunities in the future and I am excited to hope to partner with her as well.   If you have questions, please feel free to contact Coach Dobson at (937) 902-9058.
