Specific Strength Training

Coach Dobson is working with Personally FIT to create a great opportunity for any team member this summer.  For $5 (drop-in cost) per session, athletes may participate in specific strength training sessions twice a week at CHS.   These sessions will be offered promptly at 7:00 AM at CHS and are open to any and all athletes.

The class will be tailored around areas of weaknesses displayed by a Functional Movement Screening (FMS).   Each athlete will need to complete this FMS prior to starting sessions.   The screening costs $20.   The easiest opportunity for the screening is Thursday, June 14th at CHS (Upstairs Back of Central) promptly @  7 AM.    Visit more information on the FMS at their website www.functionalmovement.com

Look at what an elite national coach wrote specifically to Coach Dobson regarding the FMS. “…you’re WAY ahead of the curve if you’re thinking about screening all of your athletes, then looking for improvement over the course of the summer, fall, winter, spring.  You should be commended for thinking this way.  Dysfunction leads to injury and one of the keys to good running/racing is simply being able to consistently train.

Athletes can pay $5 cash each session or purchase a punch card(s) with 5 or 10 sessions for $25 and $50 respectively.    Checks should be written to CHS Girls XC.
